Please see the article below to go with the accompanying pictures. I will say no more as SGT Caleb Pike will cover all the hardships that these Soldiers had to endure while deployed and still trying to maintain their health and fitness.
IDS New Whey is probably the most convenient protein supplement available. A little while ago I had a job that kept me on the run……….literally. Sometimes I would have to carry large amounts of equipment throughout the day to include 2 backpacks and a large rolling 25" bag at the same time. The pace was fast and there were times where catching a meal were not actually an option. Well as a bodybuilder there are things that you MUST have and your daily amounts of protein are essential.
IDS New Whey provides up to 42 grams of protein with little to no sugar or carbs whatsoever. That makes all the difference in the world when you can't really compromise on your carb cycling. The packaging definitely seals the deal for me. I have tried and tried to destroy the tube that the protein comes in for testing purposes. I will say that anything short of whacking the top with a sledge hammer just won't cut it. I have thrown them, dropped them from 15 feet and kicked them around.
They are travel friendly at right at 3.1oz you wont really have any problem getting them on an airplane unless the TSA agent is really concerned with that .1oz. I haven’t had any issues as of yet even with international travel. The taste is strong when you drink it right from the tube however of you mix it with equal parts water if there is time them it actually taste pretty good. On a scale of 1-10 I would give the taste a 6 from the tube and about an 8 with water or juice. I would HIGHLY recommend this protein for anyone with a fast pace high impact job, Soldiers, City work professionals, Students with limited time or anyone looking for a super convenient protein supplement.
PROS
- Size. This is definitely the highlight of this supplement. The round tube can fit into almost any bag or pursue for the women. Its only 3.1oz so its quick to drink even if you mix it with equal parts water its just over 6oz.
- Its not heavy to the stomach. You can drink this pre-workout without getting an upset stomach when you start to push to the max. - Packaging. The unbreakable tube has become such a friend to me that once I drink the protein I wash out the tube and use it for other supplements.
- Price. I have to say that initially I thought that it was tad expensive until I did the math. You get 12 tubes at $30 which is $2.50 per 42 gram serving. Compare at most protein bars which are usually $3 per bar, no where near 42 grams of protein and almost always full of carbs. I look at New Whey as the way to go if there is a possible grab and go situation.
- The New Whey tubes come in 2 varieties (25 grams and 42 grams) and 4 flavors (Blue Raspberry, Fruit Punch, Grape and Orange)
CONS
- Taste. Now this is nit picking because I don't mind the taste (but I use my supplements for the essential reason that it's NEEDED rather than the taste) in saying that I will say that it doesn’t taste bad just strong when taking it straight from the tube. It is however pleasant when mixed with equal parts water.
- Question about the bio availability. The jury is still out as to how much protein you are actually getting. A lot of liquid supplements are short on stability however IDS makes pretty good supplements so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
Overall I would recommend this protein supplement for anyone on the go!!!!
